The Central Himalaya Project was set up in 1995 by Tim Harward. The project works to highlight the history, archaeology and cultural heritage of the central himalaya region. The Central Himalaya Project has worked in Nepal and India since its foundation, exploring the physical history of the region, whilst working to facilitate cultural tourism and community development.
A major part of the project work is on the heritage of the Khasa Malla dynasty of west Nepal and the Central Himalaya Project has been carrying out research into the Malla since 1995.
